Infinitum Communications provides Enhanced 911 (E911) service in compliance with FCC regulations (47 CFR § 9.3). This policy explains how E911 works with our VoIP services and your responsibilities.
When you dial 911 from a VoIP line provisioned by Infinitum Communications, your call is routed to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) based on your registered service address. Your registered address is transmitted to the PSAP dispatcher to facilitate emergency response.
E911 service will NOT function during:
If your registered address is incorrect or outdated, emergency responders may be dispatched to the wrong location.
INFINITUM COMMUNICATIONS IS NOT LIABLE FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE FAILURES DUE TO THE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE, OR ANY OTHER CONDITIONS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL LIABILITY FOR INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM E911 SERVICE LIMITATIONS.
An E911 service fee of $1.00 per line per month is charged to cover routing, database maintenance, and PSAP cost recovery. This fee is mandated by FCC regulations and is passed through at cost.
We strongly recommend maintaining an alternative means of accessing emergency services (such as a traditional landline, mobile phone, or neighbor's phone) in case your VoIP service is unavailable during an emergency.
